Analyzing the risk profile of iron condors
On the Long Side
It is possible to trade the long side of these spreads as well... To do so would mean buying the inner strikes and selling the outer strikes as shown below. These strategies would profit off of volatility expansion and large price movements in one direction. I personally don't like to trade that way because it puts you in a position where you need a large move just to break even. For the sake of learning, however, I thought I would at least show you the risk profiles so you could see them for yourself.
