Be sure to checkout Tastytrade as you explore the world of self-directed investing. It is both entertaining and educational and serves as an excellent information hub for new and experienced investors alike. Their content is free and gave me the foundations I needed to develop the trading skills I have today. It is hands-down the most useful resource I've used on my journey to learn how to manage my own money. As I continue to develop Food for Theta into a more complete resource, you can jump ahead by searching topics on Tastytrade. They have a research team that goes into impressive depth providing free statistics about optimal trade management techniques. They are also VERY good about answering your trading questions through email. They truly go above and beyond for their viewers. Tell them De'Shan sent you!

This would be a great way to get exposure to the trader language and basic strategy mechanics.

Other Helpful Videos

I've linked some really helpful beginner tutorials down below. Listen to them while you're driving, or in the background as you work. That's what I did and I learned a ton in a very short amount of time.

Step Up to Options with Rachel Fox

Get your bearings with this beginner series for option traders!

Where Do I Start 101 with Brittany and Dr. Jim

Excellent series for brand new traders!

Where Do I Start 201 with Brittany and Dr. Jim

A second season of the Where do I Start segment with Brittany and Dr. Jim.

Where Do I Start: Back in the Game with Jessica and Mike

Another great beginner series following a trader who traded a little too big her first try, and is coming back for a fresh start.

Mike and His Whiteboard with Mike Butler

The Mike and His Whiteboard series does a great job of breaking things down visually. You'd like it whether you're a seasoned trader or brand new to the game. The episodes do not seem to be in any particular order, however, so a newer trader might find it difficult to pick the episodes they need.

From Theory to Practice with Dr. Jim Schultz

This is another great one for all skill levels. There is a ton of content here, from basic concepts to advanced theory. It is also very enlightening to watch Dr. Jim trade his portfolio live on the show. Beginners will have to do a little digging to find the beginner segments, but he does them every week so you won't have to look very hard.

Just the Beginning

These series should keep you busy for quite some time but there are A LOT more shows where those came from. Hope this helps and good luck!
